Apple Announces Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4

At today’s Apple Special Event, Apple announced the latest iterations of the Apple Watch - the Apple Watch Series 12 and the Apple Watch Ultra 4.

Both watches feature Apple’s new Health Sensing System and are powered by a new S11 chip, which enable them to take higher-frequency heart rate and heart rate variability measurements.

Additionally, the new S11 chip enables Apple’s new Audio Intelligence feature (slated to arrive later this year), which will “help users remember key moments from their conversations and stay alert to important sounds, built with privacy, security, and accessibility innovations at the core.”

The Apple Watch Series 12 will also bring back the ceramic version (for the first time since the Apple Watch Series 4, which was announced in September, 2019), which will be available in pearl white and navy blue colorways.

I’m still rocking an Apple Watch Series 10, which I purchased a couple of years ago and still enjoy using. That said, the AppleCare+ plan that I purchased for it is set to expire later this month, so it might be time to start considering a possible upgrade in the near future.
